Troop 166 is
attending two weeks of summer camp this year at
Sabattis Adventure Camp
in the Adirondacks and
Camp Minsi
in the Pocono's
Scouts
are encouraged to attend both camps, but a scout can
attend either or both weeks.
Located on the
shores of Stillwater Lake in the Poconos, Camp Minsi has a wide
variety of activities for Boy Scouts and Adult Leaders. Among its
many program areas are a top quality waterfront, exciting shooting
sports, crafts and Scout Skills, and the excellent "Trail to
Adventure" 1st year scout program. Be sure to join in the infamous
Muck Hike while you're at camp!
Sabattis is located in the heart of the Adirondack Forest Preserve
in Long Lake, New York. The camp consists of 1,250 acres with a
150 acre lake surrounded by wilderness. The camp was purchased by
the Boy Scouts in the late 1950's and has served the camping needs
of youth ever since. Sabattis is the Council's high adventure
camping experience. Sabattis is five and half hours from New
Jersey and fifty miles from Lake Placid. NEW - Spar pole
climbing!!!
Here is a good guide on what to bring to both
