2009 Summer Camp Information
General Camp Information
bullet Troop 166 is attending two weeks of summer camp this year at Onteora Scout Reservation in the Catskills and Camp Minsi in the Pocono's
bullet Scouts are encouraged to attend both camps, but a Scout can attend either or both weeks.
bullet Onteora sits on 1,400 pristine acres in the heart of the NY Catskill Forest Preserve, with elevations reaching over 2,000 feet. Onteora's location gives Scouts the unique opportunity to truly know the great outdoors. Orchard Lake with its native trout and other exciting fishing combined with our rugged land and trails makes OSR the prime place for the Boy Scout Summer Camp Program. Onteora's Dan Beard Program is one of the best first year programs around.  OSR also offers many opportunities for all scouts including COPE, climbing, kayaking, The Glaize and the trailblazer program for older scouts.
bullet Located on the shores of 315 acre Stillwater Lake in the Poconos, Camp Minsi has a wide variety of activities for Boy Scouts and Adult Leaders. Among its many program areas are a top quality waterfront, exciting shooting sports, crafts, archery and Scout Skills. Minsi has 10 campsites, a large shower house and a great trading post stocked with all of your favorite snacks.  Be sure to join in the famous Muck Hike while you're at camp!

bullet Looking for extra weeks at summer camp?  Check out Great Outdoors Week at Winnebago.  Get a week of cabin or tent camping at a bargain price July 26 - August 1.  Also visit the Patriots' Path Council web site for other summer camping opportunities you can attend on your own - these include Day Camp, Camp Troop and AdVenture.

bullet Location: Livingston Manor, NY
bullet Dates: July 5 - July 11, 2009
bullet Total Fee: $325 per Scout.
bullet Deposit: $75 - Was due 3/12/2009 - registration form for both camps.
bullet Final payment is due June 4, 2009.  You can still go to camp - call Mrs. Sittner.
bullet Forms - Due 6/11/2009:
bullet Camp medical form - BSA Class III for Onteora.  Onteora requires this version of the BSA form.  One downloaded from other websites is not acceptable.
bullet Permission to Treat - Onteora requires these forms to be completed for all scouts.  One is for the local hospital and the second is for a nearby Urgent Care center.
bullet Medications - Required if scout will be taking any prescription or over the counter medications at camp.
bullet Scouts need to bring a bag lunch for Sunday, as the first meal will be dinner.
bullet Scouts need to wear their bathing suits under their uniform so they are ready for the swim test. Have a towel easily accessible in their daypack.
